A lot of people claim this is a good method, and that it's a low risk if done correctly.

I know a few people that actually have invested money in it and have reported good results. I personally don't see it as being that safe or stable. Maybe when I have some spare cash I'll give it a try, but for now I'll try other methods.

Aside from the mutual funds we have in our 401K, I don't do anything with the stock market. I feel I have as much chance of losing money as of gaining. Although some people have had terrific experiences, I don't look at investing in the stock market as a money-making method.

I am follow the stock market actively and it is a nice way to make money if you understand what you are doing. I had made over 60% return on my money through October this year. But as often happens in the stock market you can lose money just a quickly as you make it. I am now up 20% on the year after these past to months. The experiance so far for me has been that you need to stay emotionally unattached to the money. You have to treat investing as if it a research game and that it is not money that you are trading with. Do get emotional about stock! Thats my best advice.
