You can do that all right, but can you afford to? If the company has a copyright on their name (which obviously they will) they will come down on you like a ton of bricks and you will probably be liable for a large fine at the very least. Even if you stay away from names that are trademarks, you may be dicing with drama as, for example, Cadbury has tried to take official possession of the colour purple and Qantas owns a particular shade of red.
