Will You Go Deeper in Debt This Christmas?

Postby jnjblogger on November 25th, 2007, 12:54 am

The Christmas season is upon us, and people are out and about filling up their carts with Christmas presents. I intend to get a little something for everyone on my list, but I will not resort to using credit to buy gifts this year. What about you? Will your goodwill towards others mean debt for you?

Well or some small things I would use cash, say anything under $20, but for big purchases I would definitely use a credit card. I would not be walking around with a stash of hundred dollar bills. For some things you use cash, for major purchases DEFINITELY I will use a credit card. Not to mention I can cash in on the rewards afterwards.

I do most of my shopping online so I will be using my debit card. I have a very strict budget when it comes to buying presents as I can not afford to go and buy people lots of stuff and have debt. If they don't like what I can afford then that is to bad.

I like your attitude! I think so often we end up worrying way too much about impressing people with a gift, when all that is needed is just a small thing to let them know we are thinking of them. There are some people I know who want/expect expensive gifts from me, but they're not my true friends anyway, so who cares!
