You'll often get a bunch of credit card offers in the mail, and while some don't contain much confidential information, others do. And if someone were to stumble upon such info, they could possibly activate the card under your name and use it for malicious purposes. While the chances of that are not so high, identity theft is no joke, and can give you headaches later on. So it's best to be safe, than sorry in the long run. I always shred these offers as soon as I'm done reading them. If you don't have a shredder, I urge to slice it up with a scissor instead then. Don't just dump it in the trash without cutting it up a bit as your just making it easier for any possible identity theft crook out there.
