Budgeting

Postby jnjblogger on November 24th, 2007, 2:07 pm

Do you have a budget set up for your monthly expenses and saving or do you just pay bills as they come in and not really think about where the money is going? I keep a budget, although I am flexible with it. It has helped me become much more aware of where the money is going and where I can cut expenses. If you do use a budget, did you come up with it on your own or do you use a software package?

Yes I have a budget, but I don't use software.

However, I might use it later on due to it being more organized and it's easier to track expenses with it. But since my current budget is manageable I don't need to use software. For those interested in using software I've seen a lot of free budget software out there, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a good and free one.

Also, due to setting and following a budget, I've managed to avoid debt and other financial problems.

I am currently in college so I have a meal and laundry plan. Besides for and laundry I do not have any other real expenses so the budgeting is taken care of for me. Once I get out of school I plan on sticking to a strict budget.
