Be Careful of 0% Offers

Be Careful of 0% Offers

Postby jnjblogger on November 23rd, 2007, 7:52 pm

A lot of us are tempted to accept offers for 0% credit cards. These offers are especially tempting if we have high interest balances on other cards we would like to transfer. Read the fine print before accepting these offers. Some of these cards jump up to having high rates as soon as the 0% introductory rate expires. Also, if you miss a payment they may also jump up. My brother had a card that went from 0% to 31% when he missed a payment. Ouch!

Honestly, I don't quite get it how the 0% offers from credit cards work. I see these offers everywhere, TV, magazines, newspapers. The ads are almost everywhere. True, very tempting offers, good thing I have self control. LOL! :P

31% interest too much. Yes, everyone need to be aware on all this offer of 0%. The offer look interesting, but who know there's hidden interest.

That's the problem with those too good to be true offers. You thought you're saving a lot by availing of the offer, then you will be surprised with the hidden charges.

Remember, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. You can find plenty of good cards out there that can help you if used properly and responsibly. Always read the fine print carefully and choose wisely.

Zero to 31% is a huge jump but it does not shock me. Credit card companies will murder you with rate hikes if you miss payments. These 0% offers normally only last for a set amount of months then the rate jumps into the 20% range for most of them.
